Qualifying Event: Tuesday 20th July 2010
The Financial Times Business Championship visited Wentworth Club's newly designed West Course for the 9th event in the 2010 series.
Although the conditions were hot and sunny, usually conducive to high scoring, the West Course's new layout proved a challenge for competitors.
It was tight at the top of the leaderboard and after a card playoff, Ashridge Financial Management edged into second place ahead of Gas Turbine Services after both teams finished on 67 points. However, finishing on 68 points and qualifying to go through to the Grand Finals at Quinta do Lago in Portugal was the Howard Worth team. The top 3 teams were all awarded prizes from Inkerman's Crystal Collection.
The Nearest the Pin competition was won by Mike Hodgson from IOMA Solutions who hit a fantastic shot to 3 feet on the 2nd hole. Mike received an Odyssey Strykeback putter.
The Longest Drive competition was won by Nigel Jenkins from the Howard Worth team. Nigel received a Callaway Diablo hybrid.
Many thanks to all the teams who took part in the day including Pannone Solicitors, IOMA Solutions, SPW Sports, Inkermand and Regal Petroleum.
