Qualifying Event: Thursday 22nd July 2010
The Financial Times Business Championship visited Royal Lytham & St Annes this week for the 10th event in the 2010 championship.
Royal Lytham & St Annes is set to host The Open Championship in 2012 and competitors played the newly altered course, which was in fantastic condition.
Creamline Dairies posted an excellent score of 74 points to take an early lead in the clubhouse after a card playoff with playing partners Champ Chickens who also finished on 74 points. However, one of the last groups out on the course, Barton Willmore, managed an extra point to finish on 75 points which edged Creamline Dairies into 2nd place and Champ Chickens into 3rd place. Barton Willmore qualify to go through to the Grand Finals hosted on Quinta do Lago's Laranjal Course in October. The top 3 teams were awarded prizes from the Inkerman Crystal Collection.
Nearest the Pin was won by Paul Goodman from Wilson Decorators with a fantatic shot within 3 feet of the hole on the tricky 174 yard 1st hole. paul received an Odyssey Strykeback putter.
Paul Langford from Hogan's Butchers won the Longest Drive competition on the 18th hole and took away a Callaway Diablo hybrid.
