Full Event Report

Royal Birkdale hosted the third FT Business Championship event of 2010 where eleven teams took part. Although it was close to the middle of Summer, the weather did not suggest so but despite the cloudy skies and chilly breeze, the participants enjoyed the links course, host to The Ricoh Women's British Open in July.

The early scores that came on were setting a very high target for the later teams as team B from Junction Garage posted a score of 51points, the highest score ever in The Championship. Fifty one points, coupled with a very respectable 37points from team A made it almost impossible for another team to challenge. However three other teams came in with 82points to battle it out for second and third place. Wilson Decorators who have played in The Grand Finals on a number of occasions, managed to claim second spot as one of their teams had posted a score of 44points. APD Plumbing took the third spot from G Williams Insurance Services.

John Carroll from Wilsons Decorators won the Longest Drive prize, perhaps unsurprisingly being off a handicap of plus 3. Terry Orritt from Junction Garage was the winner of Nearest the Pin.
